“This collection of acoustic-electric songs is both in itself an étude in which each song is a production exercise implementing a different musical technique, and also a narrative about navigating a competitive and traumatic academic experience. Featuring early 1900’s samples from the Citizen DJ collection from the Library of Congress, the songs range in themes from Idealism to Shame, & Flirtation. The work seeks ways in which we might find catharsis and overcome narratives of our younger selves.”
